When should I use salt for my livestock?

Almost all fodder and feed rations are low in sodium. Salt supplements must be constantly available to livestock all year-long, whether out grazing or in sheds. However, trace element requirements vary during the year, especially in relation to herd feed practices. As well as salt, other supplements must therefore be provided on a seasonal basis.
